Workout/Diet Updates & My Activewear Favorites

It been a little while since Sean and I began our weight loss journey and I must admit that I am super proud of how well we’ve been able to keep up with it.  Just about a month ago we started the keto diet and about a week after that, we began exercising regularly doing both Shaun T. – Insanity Max 30 and P90X3 workouts every day. Since then a lot has happened so I thought I would share with you a small progress update and our experiences with the whole thing so far as well as share with you some of my favorites when it comes to workout gear and equipment.

First off we are not on keto anymore. We stopped a couple of days ago in preparation for future travels and tours because it is insanely hard to eat out when you’re on keto. We experienced that firsthand at the Black Panther premiere in London when we wanted to grab a quick lunch but had “break” keto (it was one meal so we technically we didn’t break it, it just wasn’t a keto-friendly meal) to get something even remotely related to it. So to make life a little easier on us when we travel, we decided to switch to another diet.
It’s not a major change, it just means we can now intake more protein and aren’t as restricted in what we eat as long as we stay within out calorie budget. This means I can finally say goodbye to eating eggs, bacon and cheese with every meal, which suits me just fine. It also means that I can finally eat fruits and berries again! Oh, and yoghurt! Those few things where honestly what I missed eating the most while on keto. So now it’s skyr, müsli and strawberries every morning! – YUM!!

Going forward from this change is not really going to be any different work out-wise. I’m still doing Insanity Max 30 every day while mixing in some old-school P90X ab workouts. It’s tough but it’s good and I can already begin to see the progress on the outside as well as the inside because I honestly feel great! Much better than last year! I don’t feel like I’m gasping for air when I do a short jog. Going up the stairs doesn’t make me feel like I want to die anymore and I had to toss an old skirt because it simply didn’t fit me around the waist anymore.
I’m really proud of what Sean and I have accomplished in these 4 weeks we’ve been doing this and I hope we can use this as a solid foundation for a much more integrated, healthier lifestyle. I definitely want to keep working hard to keep this positive force going for as long as I can. – Insert beefy arm emoji here haha!

  2. I freaking feel you Wiish. Stairs were my number one enemy before swimming, but now my heart is at least strong enough to handle them. Looking forward to being fit!

  3. That’s actually really exciting, I’m glad things are going well for you! I get so excited about fitness and health. Just seeing your favorites gets me motivated. I really enjoy working out, as hard as it is. Eating healthy is the hard part for me. But I know it’s possible to live a healthy lifestyle. This was really motivational! I’m happy when you post!

  4. I recently joined the gym near my house! My plan is cardio there, and doing exercises at home, and then eventually start weight training at the gym as well. I know for me, my biggest problem is diet. Already started making some changes, and my anxiety has noticeably lessened. Thanks for the inspiration! Good luck to you guys😁

  5. My new year resolution was to start the keto diet, and I felt really good about it.
But after a few weeks it started to affect me and it began to get really hard to get myself to eat. I stopped it but am still not happy that I had to give up my resolution! Are there any simple but effective diets that anyone can offer? I’m not that big on exercise but I do two extreme workouts a week, so if anyone can request a diet that could help me that would be great!

  6. It’s great to see that you two are happy with the results you are getting so far! It’s great that you can eat berries again! And yogurt!! 😀 Were you satisfied with the results you got from the Keto diet while you were on it? I know that you said you weren’t planning to stay on it and would switch eventually. Would you recommend it to others after the results you’ve gotten?

    1. You would get the same results on a normal low carb diet it would just take you a little longer. Keto is also much more difficult to maintain especially if you don’t have the time to prep meals every day. I was definitely satisfied with my results but they where also heavily accompanied by all the exercising I did. So I guess, in the end, it all depends on what you prefer yourself? 🙂

  7. You write that you will
“–share with you some of my favorites when it comes to workout gear and equipment”
But then you don’t write anything about it? I would have liked to read about it.

  8. Oh man, I wish I had the dedication you guys have! Keep up the good work, you’re doing amazing from what I read here 😛

I danced for 10 years (irish dance, tapdance and hip hop, so quite the workout), but had to quit for college and two years after quitting, I’m starting to see the changes my body is going through. Your posts give me the enthusiasm to find me a proper training and get going again to get my muscles and condition back!

    Best of luck!

  9. Well done to both of you with the fitness and keeping the PMA going! I can completely relate to the difficulty of being on keto and not being able to find suitable alternatives when eating out. I’m on my second week of it, but this school holiday has made it insanely difficult to keep to, so I try to at least keep my calorie intake/expenditure in the right balance. Good luck with the new diet 🙂

May I suggest a future blog post about what types of meals you guys are eating on your diet?

Hope you’re having a lovely day Signe! ❤️👍🏻

      1. That’s completely understandable, I’m pretty much the same way with posting certain things.
But I’m happy with whatever you decide to post haha, I always look forward to reading 😊

  11. I’m so proud of you guys! I’m glad you’re honest to goodness sticking to your goal and I know that with both of your and Sean’s positive attitudes combined, you’ll definitely get the results you want. Now, if I could just apply that to my goals…. It’s hard to work around college :p
