The Perfect Dip – Guacamole Recipe

Recently I posted an Instagram story featuring some homemade guacamole and ever since then, I’ve gotten quite a few requests for a recipe. That’s why I thought that today I would heed your wishes and present you with this very simple, yet delicious, summertime dip.

IMG_0541IMG_0538IMG_0546As most of you already know, avocados are a millennials’ best friend. This large fruit (which is technically a large berry, if we want to get really specific) is absolutely delicious and perfect for the hot summer weather. Whether it’s for salads, on top of a piece of nice crispy toast or as a classic dip with either some crisps or some flatbread on the side. Needless to say, it works for everything.
Heres what you’ll need:

  • 1 Avocado
  • Lime/lemon
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • Salt
  • 1 Tomato

Start by peeling your avocado and removing the stone. Once you’ve gotten the “flesh” out you then start mashing it in a small bowl. I usually use a fork but if you want a smoother texture you can use a blender or a food processor as well. Next is the tomato. You want to chop it into fine pieces and add that to the mash. Peel and press your garlic and mix it in with the rest of your guacamole as well. Finally, add a squeeze of lime and a pinch of salt for flavor. You can always add more or less depending on the intensity of the flavor you want! That’s basically the gist of it! Super easy to make, takes no more than 5 minutes and it’s such a delicious summer snack.

I got a lot of request for this particular recipe and it seemed unnecessary to pad it out just for the sake of filling up space so I left it simple and to the point.   1. Guacamole is one of my favorites! I also like to add a little ground cayenne pepper for some heat, as well as a little fresh cilantro for extra flavor. But I haven’t tried adding tomato before! I’ll give it a try next time I make it 😁

  2. I’m not a fan of avocados but if you switch them with garbanzo beans, you make a delish hummus. Still, it was really lovely to hear about your recipe! Your couple of food related videos and blog posts are really inspiring and encourage healthy eating with quick prep time. You’re just like Antoni from Queer Eye!

  3. I’ve actually never had avocado before and I’ve always womdered how it would taste. I’m curious to try this out at some point, as I’ve heard plenty good things about homemade guac and your recipe looks simple enough for a try. ^^

  5. I’m definitely going to use this recipe. A lot of guacamole recipes I see around here have cilantro, and I am on the side of history that hates cilantro, so this one is perfect for me!! Thank you for sharing!! It looks amazing!!

    What I like to do is add some chili powder into it!
    Of course, I live in New Mexico so chili is important lol

  7. It’s funny that you posted this while I was eating guacamole! I’m a mess in the kitchen, so I’m always on the look out for easy, simple recipes. I will definitely try this one out. I really like it when you share recipes with us, they’re always so interesting 🙂
