The Shoe Edit: My Favorite Autumn Boots

As I was browsing shops the other day I walked into a store called Magasín and fell in love with pair of a brown leather Chelsea boots (these if you where curious). It made me think; I have a weird relationship with shoes. Not just clothes or shopping in general, but with shoes in particular.
I think my strange relationship with them goes back to a quote I heard in a movie called “In Her Shoes” which I watched a lot when I was younger. In it, Toni Collette says something along the lines of: “Clothes never look good, and food just makes me fatter but shoes always fit.” And I guess that resonated with me and although I slightly disagree about the food part (food is just too delicious to not buy, whenever you have the chance, and also a great mood booster!) I think that now that I’m an adult, shoes have become one of my favorite things to buy, simply because they ALWAYS FIT.
I don’t have a lot of stilettos and heels but I do have a tonne of boots. I guess because my favorite season is one of the colder ones.

IMG_0916IMG_0917As I said, I have a lot of boots. Boots that have just sort of accumulated over the years. Leather boots in particular has always been my go-to for autumn. They are beautiful, rustic and they last forever. Usually they are also a very good staple in your wardrobe and not something you’ll have to change because it went out of style. They never go out of style.
Here are three boots I think are absolute must-haves for autumn/winter time:

The Chelsea boot:
The Chelsea boot has become very popular in the last couple of years and is one of my absolute favorites. It’s so easy to pull on and looks great. An easy go-to for me and you can get them in every single possible color you can think of.
My favorites are the ones in nature colors, specifically in black and/or brown leather.

The dress boot:
The dress boot is fantastic for an evening out in autumn or winter. A classy leather boot, typically with laces and a very sophisticated and petite look about them. The perfect fit for a long dress and stockings.

The combat boot:
The combat boot is a great work and/or hiking boot. Nothing gets in to them once they’re on, not even water! And they are comfortable and warm as well. The perfect boot for you if you like long walks through the forest or the beach.

The pair I’m sporting in the photos, is an old purchase I made last autumn. One of my pricier purchases for sure, but I’ve used them a lot since then and the quality of them hasn’t decayed.
If you need inspiration for your own autumn purchases you can check out this edit I made below with some of the things I would typically go for.

  1. This is why I love autumn!! Big jumpers, comfy boots and loads of tea! I only own three pairs of boots now but they are my go to shoes when it’s cold, especially a pair that I own which look like the 11th Doctor’s but in black ^^
By the way your photos are so beautiful Signe!

  2. I have always loved wearing boots in the chilly seasons, but I only own 2 pairs because money is very hard to come by for a teen. I have always wondered where you got your boots and this post helps a ton for where I can start looking to wear more boots! Also, your photography is absolutely amazing!

  3. Boots are such a guilty pleasure. I can’t tell you how excited I was for the autumn weather to roll in so I could actually wear them without sweating to death! Sometimes being pricey can be a turn off, but for good quality, I don’t think you can really beat that!

Lovely aesthetic photos as always, girlie. You always have such a charming insight onto the small things ❤

  4. I whole-heartily agree with your view of shoes. Clothes are harder to find depending on body shape and I’m just so picky, but with shoes there are so many styles to choose from I fall in love with them instantly!

    1. Exactly! We have so many things to consider when buying clothes and it can get frustrating. Shoes however, always seems to fit and it’s a welcome breath of fresh air to not go through 700 shops just to find something that looks good on you.

  5. I’ve just bought a pair of winter boots. They are my favorite type of shoe to wear. I agree that they never go out of style! I hope autumn is going well for you. 🙂

  6. I was never a huge shoe person, but last year I got my first pair of boots and everything changed. I could not take off those shoes. Wearing them seemed to give me a bit more confidence (and still do) plus, they basically went with everything I owned. I even tried to wear them in summer, even if it wasn’t such a great idea…
Now that Fall is here, I get to break them out again and I couldn’t be happier! I’ll be sure to check out your recommendations the next time I go shoe shopping.

    Have a great night!

  7. I love boots, they are definitely one of my weak points. I get such boot jealously from your outfits, so this is perfect for finding similar boots for myself. Thanks, Signe!

  8. Absolutely love the photos in this post!
Your love for shoes definitely shines through in your style. You have the ability to pull off some stunning boots that I could never dream of wearing! I absolutely love your taste in boots, the buckles and embellishments, they suit you so well!

  9. I am a sucker for classic fall shoes like Dr. Martens and Hunter boots. They just scream Fall to me. I also fell in love with this pair of combat boots from Steve Madden three years ago and have been wearing them since. I probably don’t look badass, but I feel badass and that’s all that matters 🙂

  10. I have Dr martens and I love them so much! I don’t have much choice because of medical stuff but they are the comfiest shoes I’ve ever worn( unless slippers count) but yeah. Also, I go to a woodland area every year for bonfire and it always rains so the Lodge steps are constantly slippy so my Dr martens have the best grip ever! Ok I’m going to shush now. Bye 🙂
